#MyAfricanAdventure

One of the reasons I did very little shoots during the month
of May was my trip to Northern Namibia, in a villiage near Oshikuku called
Okathitu konkayi, very near to the Angolian border.

For the past 15 or so years, I have always dedicated any of my
holidays going to South Africa, and I felt I needed to change that.
Travel more, see more, explore more. This was the result of that
that decision, which I call My African Adventure.

It was a cultural shock, to say the least. I felt prepared, but it was something
completely different. You rely on your body to get you where you want to go;
you quite literally work for your food.

Take a look:
Beans

Mahangu, which is cultivated to make porridge, a staple food in the Ovambo culture.

There was no electricity, but trust MTC to provide network ;D

A hut on the Eastern side of the village. Not sure what was inside
it as it was camped off completely.

named Josef?

The family we visited in the village nearby. When they said they would
dish up pig, I didn't expect half of it's teeth would be involved as well ;D

#PractiseMakesPerfectMonsters

I had time on my hands one night and decided to do some highlighting
& contouring as practise for #shotophoots, and came up with the name
of the shoot then (especially while in process of photo number 2).

This in turn inspired this shoot:
It is also noteworthy that there was no foundation used for neither set
of photos, and it is all highlighting & contouring;
the tan colour of my face is from actual tanning (as
seen in the first picture which seems like i'm wearing a neckpiece lol)

Kissing The Flame [Mini Post]

Been quite a while since I have done a photoshoot,
and with reason. Been on leave since late April, and since
attended my brother's wedding and took a fascinating and
knowledgeable trip to the North to experience a culture I
wanted to know more of.

So here is my first shoot since returning, altho it's a mini post
because I forgot my tripod in my mother's car ;D

Perfumes: Ralph Lauren - Polo Blue

Been exceptionally motivated in creating, or re creating
a fragrance's photo by using natural back drops.

So I got the idea to find notes from fragrances that I have
easy access to; Oranges are more readily available then
say, Safron, or Vanilla Pods.

So my first successful fragrance shoot with natural back drops
is Ralph Lauren's Polo Blue, which consist of, among other elements,
Cucumber, Basil, Suede & Musk.

For a complete list of notes & main accords of this gorgeous
aromatic fougere, check out Fragrantica

Perfumes: Thierry Mugler Angel EDP

Having little to none props at home to create backdrops and
such for the fragrances, I decided to bring my bottle to work
and snap it off my phone instead.

For full list of notes & main accords, head on over to Fragrantica

The Fiery Cock Mini Post

Been out of it for a while, and coming back into it, I think I have lost
the details of how I usually contour my face, cos I was beating that
face for almost an hour! lol.

So here's a mini post for now, as I get back into the swing of things ;D
